Ontario Fee Change

The Government of Ontario has passed legislation to combine Ontario’s Retail Sales Tax with the federal Goods and Services Tax to create a federally administered Harmonized Sales Tax, effective July 1 2010. As a result of this change, IRP member jurisdictions will no longer be required to charge the Annual Prorated Sales Tax. An updated fee schedule is attached to reflect these changes after July 1 2010, so please see the memo and the fee schedules for all details.

PEI Name Change

On January 13, 2010 Prince Edward Island Transportation and Public Works name was changed to Prince Edward Island Transporation and Infrastructure Renewal.

PA Emergency Declaration

Due to the most recent, extended cold weather, which threatens to impact on the distribution of propane and heating oil, the Governor of Pennsylvania has directed the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to waive regulations to permit the motor carrier operations necessary to provide supplies of propane gas and heating fuel adequate to preserve the public welfare of the Commonwealth for the period of January 7, 2010 through January 21, 2010, unless extended by an amendment.
