History
The original fee schedule approved in April 1999 ranged from a low of $3,000 for jurisdictions with 5,000 or fewer power units to a high of $28,000 for jurisdictions with power units in excess of 30,000. In May 2000 the Board approved a reduction in the fees which ranged from $1,000 for fewer than 1000 power units up to $20,000 for jurisdictions with power units in excess of 100,000. The newest approved pricing continues to reduce the jurisdiction’s cost by at least 21% from the previous schedule.
During the pricing discussions, the Board also agreed that the revised pricing should include a reserve for future Clearinghouse enhancements. The repository plans to continue to work with the Clearinghouse Committee and AAMVAnet™ at looking at ways to further reduce the overall expenses of the Clearinghouse and in turn, reduce the Clearinghouse fee schedule. In addition, the Board plans to periodically review the Clearinghouse pricing structure.
