Mexico and the US are currently participating in the Cross Border Demo Project, a year-long trial program which began September 2007 to expand border operations to allow up to 100 US trucking companies to operate beyond the commerical zone in Mexico and up to 100 Mexican trucking companies to operate beyond the commercial zone in the US.
