This is a notice to all law enforcement agencies from the State of South Carolina. South Carolina registers IRP carriers on one system and completes an overnight file transfer to another DMV Registration system. Because this is not a real time process, updates do not always show in the system; the IRP carriers’ registration sometimes shows as an expired vehicle on the DMV Registration system when it is not expired.
South Carolina would like to inform all law enforcement agencies to please accept the information on the unexpired IRP Cab Card as the correct information on vehicle tag and expiration.
