Recently the Colorado State Legislature enacted House Bill 08-1171 which clarifies when determining the actual purchase price (taxable value) for a vehicle you must exclude the Federal Excise Tax on heavy commercial vehicle. The actual purchase price is used to determine the ownership tax. If you are using MSRP (factory price) or our provided ownership tax table to determine actual purchase price, this change does not affect CO fees.
