New Jersey will begin using a new apportioned registration cab card as well as issuing a brand new Temporary Vehicle Registration (TVR) to New Jersey-based vehicles on Monday, Jan. 12, 2009.

The documents will be printed on stock 8 ½ X 11 white paper using black ink. The cab card has the words NEW JERSEY APPORTIONED CAB CARD printed at the top of page and, as a new security feature, a bar code located in the middle-right portion of the credential. The temporary registration also contains a bar code located at the bottom right of the page and the words TEMPORARY VEHICLE REGISTRATION printed at the top. Both documents will contain the electronic signature of Sharon A. Harrington, Chief Administrator of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission along with the New Jersey State Seal.
