At the IRP Annual Meeting in St. Louis, participants received a survey about the development of a full and free reciprocity agreement for non-apportioned vehicles. The primary purpose of this agreement would be to grant inter-jurisdictional reciprocity to non-apportioned commercial vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 26,000 lbs (11,794 kg) or less. The survey is intended to collect information and identify key issues and challenges that jurisdictions foresee in the development of a full and free reciprocity plan.
*Note: The Board of IRP has endorsed the establishment of a task force to address full and free reciprocity for non-apportioned vehicles. The Board agreed that this is an important issue and should be addressed by IRP. The Board also expressed a lack of clarity from attendees regarding differences between this proposal and the Full Reciprocity proposal. The task force will review the name for the agreement to avoid future confusion.
It would be appreciated if a representative from each jurisdiction could complete this survey by June 18th.
