If you weren’t able to join us this year in Tempe, here are just a few of the things you missed:

  • Futurist Matt Thornhill enlightened us all regarding changes and trends that will impact our future in the IRP world, motor carrier industry and life in general!
  • Regional breakouts continued the meeting’s focus of Navigating the Future.
  • Kendis Paris of Truckers Against Trafficking educated all regarding the severity of human trafficking and how we can help.
  • Presentation and discussion of three proposed ballots.
  • Onsite demos by Arizona Department of Transportation Enforcement and Compliance Division.
  • Discussion of the HVUT electronic verification project.
  • The IRP Clearinghouse – what can we do for you?
  • Open meetings of the Board and four standing committees.
  • 56 jurisdictions were in attendance.
  • A buddy system and after hours activities helped all attendees make important connections with IRP colleagues.

Access the meeting materials, including Navigating the Future: Generational Mindsets from futurist Matt Thornhill.

Award Winners

Winners of IRP awards were announced at the recent IRP Annual Meeting. Congratulations to:

Her willingness to help and her role as a voice of industry have been a great asset to the IRP community.
  • Bill Graber of Illinois, who was presented the Michael D. "Mick” Ramirez IRP Volunteer of the Year Award. Bill currently chairs the IT and Data Services Committee. Through the years, he has been dedicated to his work in Illinois and to the IRP community.

Cab Card Question: Bus Weight or Seats?

Kentucky would like to know what other jurisdictions print on cab cards for buses for the jurisdictions with fees based on seats or passengers, not weight. Do you print the number of seats? Or do you print your jurisdiction's registered weight?
