To streamline and create consistency with communications sent on behalf of participating IRP jurisdictions, IRP requests that any notification submitted for distribution should contain the following:       A contact person, title, email, and phone number for questions or concerns.    A detailed explanation. If enough information is not provided, clarification will be sought before sending.    Any supporting documentation (proclamation, executive order, etc.)     Dates the notification is effective and will expire.      All submitted documents should be converted to PDF format (not printed or imaged to PDF).&nbsp;    The request and supporting documents should be sent to&nbsp;  IRPmail@irpinc.org  . <title>Illinois IRP Registration Renewal Extension 2026</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>Due to a high volume of in-person renewals, the Illinois Office of the Secretary of State is extending the&nbsp;registration period for vehicles registered under the International Registration Plan (IRP) with expiration&nbsp;dates in March 2026.<br /></p><p>Vehicles with IRP temporary registration expiring March 31, 2026, will remain valid through April&nbsp;15, 2026. Vehicles with IRP license plates expiring March 31, 2026, will also remain valid until April&nbsp;15, 2026, provided the vehicle owner has renewed online and presents their receipt of renewal with&nbsp;their 2026 registration credentials.<br /></p><p>Notwithstanding this extension, registrants are strongly encouraged to submit renewal<br />applications online by April 3, 2026, to ensure receipt of their 2027 registration by April 15, 2026.<br /></p><p>Law enforcement agencies in all IRP member jurisdictions are asked to refrain from taking enforcement&nbsp;action against Illinois vehicles with IRP temporary registration expiring on 3/31/2026 or IRP license plates&nbsp;expiring March 2026, provided the vehicle has proof of online renewal and valid 2026 registration&nbsp;credentials, until after April 15, 2026.<br /></p><p>Questions concerning the extension may be directed to Jenny Budd, Administrator for Commercial &amp; Farm&nbsp;Truck Division at 217-785-7197 or <a href="mailto:jbudd@ilsos.gov">jbudd@ilsos.gov</a>.</p><p>Please click <a href="https://www.irponline.org/page/Extensions">HERE</a> to view the extension notice.</p>]]></description>

<title>Michigan Notice of System Update</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>The Michigan Secretary of State is updating its Customer and Automotive Records System (CARS), which includes IRP transaction activity, beginning Friday, June 13. The system will not be available during the implementation weekend from June 13, after close of business at 5 p.m. EST, until the services are back online on Sunday, June 15, at 7 p.m. This update will require temporary suspension of some processes.</p> <p>Below is the high-level cutover timeline:</p> <ul style="list-style-type: disc;"><li>Daily IDR files will be sent on Friday, June 13.</li><li>No transactions will be processed in office or online after 5 p.m. on June 13.</li><li>Daily IDR files will NOT be sent on Saturday, June 14.</li><li>Transaction processing online can resume on Sunday, June 15, after 7 p.m.; however, low numbers are anticipated since communications to customers have stated the system will be unavailable until 8 a.m. on Monday, June 16.</li><li>Daily IDR files will resume on Monday, June 16.</li><li>Transaction processing in office resumes on Monday, June 16.</li></ul> <p>Please direct any questions you may have to Rayne Sherman at <a href="mailto:ShermanR@Michigan.gov">ShermanR@Michigan.gov</a>.</p> <p>Regards,</p> <address>Keitha Cameron, Director</address> <address>Business and Internal Services Division</address> <address>Michigan Department of State</address>]]></description>

<title>Registration Extension for Ontario International Registration Plan (IRP) Carriers</title>

<description><![CDATA[<p>On March 3, 2025, Ontario transitioned IRP service delivery from the Ministry of Transportation to ServiceOntario. As a result of this change, Ontario is providing a grace period to ensure all carriers with plates expiring between March 31, 2025, and May 31, 2025, renewal have sufficient time to receive their credentials.<br /></p><p>On March 17, 2025, a 30-day registration extension was provided to Ontario IRP Registered Carriers to remain valid through April 30, 2025.<br /></p><p>An additional registration extension is being provided to Ontario IRP Registered Carriers and will remain valid through June 30, 2025. <description><![CDATA[<p>On the week of March 1, 2025, the Alabama Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle Division, began implementation of a new motor carrier registration system. Due to this conversion, we are granting an extension for all IRP credentials expiring February 28, 2025, until April 1, 2025. This grace period is intended to accommodate any processing delays and ensure all carriers with a February 2025 renewal have sufficient time to receive their credentials.
