Meeting Registration
On Monday, April 30, meeting registration will be open 2:30 – 6:30 pm. The registration table will be in the 16th floor foyer.

Attendees will receive name badges and conference materials at registration. Please remember that the name badge serves as the ticket to all conference programs and meals. Please wear it at all times and bring it to the opening reception and to breakfasts.

Opening Reception
Be sure to attend the IRP Volunteer of the Year Award Opening Reception on Monday, April 30 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Crescent Ballroom on the 16th floor. Before heading out to dinner, enjoy light hors d’oeuvres, reconnect with old colleagues and meet new contacts during this opening reception. If you are coming to New Orleans with a spouse, family or other traveling companions, they are welcome to attend.

Dietary Restrictions and ADA Accommodations
Accommodations: Please contact IRP ASAP if there are additional accommodations you would like to request so you can fully participate in the meeting.
Dietary restrictions: If you have any food allergies or other restrictions (i.e. vegetarian or kosher), please notify IRP ASAP and we will try to accommodate.

Networking Activities
Plan to take advantage of opportunities to get to know your IRP colleagues outside of the meeting agenda! Volunteers are organizing a variety of optional activities. See the list.

If you plan to join the group for bowling Tuesday evening, please RSVP to the volunteer activities coordinator, Kimberly Reoh, by Monday, April 30.

Meeting Materials
Access materials and handouts. Materials include agendas for the onsite meetings of the Board, Industry Advisory Committee, Peer Review Committee, and IT and Data Services Committee.

If you would like to refer to these onsite, please download ahead of time; onsite copies will only be provided of the agenda, not of other materials. If you would prefer to download onsite, there will be complimentary wifi that IRP, Inc. is able to provide in 2018 due to a special arrangement with the hotel. Note for future years that this is not something we’re always able to provide.

Feedback for Idea Exchange
Get feedback from colleagues to share at this year’s Idea Exchange. During this open forum, members will share their suggestions on how to take IRP to the next level while discussing the following questions:

  • What recent effective improvement(s) has your organization made?
  • Name something your office does that others should consider doing as a best practice.
  • Name something you think the IRP community should work on in the next year.

Ballot Information
Two proposed ballots will be discussed at the IRP Annual Meeting. Be prepared for this discussion: read the proposed ballots and submitted comments.

Public Service Project
The host jurisdiction of Louisiana is organizing a public service project this year, collecting monetary donations for the Louisiana Troopers Charities (LTC).

About this organization:

  • LTC provides support for the community such as:
    • Grant-A-Wish provides assistance to terminally and chronically ill children.
    • Children’s programs include summer camps, fishing trips and youth hunts benefiting underprivileged youth throughout the state. Efforts have also been made to raise funds to purchase public school uniforms for under-privileged students.
    • Toy and food drives are held by affiliate troops during holiday periods.
  • One Vest, One Life provides all active Louisiana state troopers with level four ballistic vests.
  • As the charitable arm of the Louisiana State Troopers Association, LTC offers assistance to troopers and their families. Services include life insurance, hospitalization benefits, dental programs, as well as legal representation and financial counseling, often in times of family crisis.

Louisiana Troopers Charities is classified as a 501(c) (3) charitable organization and, as such, all contributions are fully tax-deductible. Louisiana asks that you consider either donating onsite in New Orleans, or donate now online.

Attire
Dress for the meeting is business casual attire. As individual preferences on room temperature vary, IRP recommends dressing in layers to maintain preferred comfort.

Visiting New Orleans
Learn about things to do in New Orleans.

Remembering Pat Crahan
During the meeting, we will remember Pat Crahan, who passed away in December. Pat was one of the pioneers of the IRP agreement and worked for U-Haul for 54 years. We will have a board where memories of Pat will be shared with the community. This will include both photos and written remembrances. After the meeting, IRP will compile these into a book to give to his widow Velva. If you have any photos including Pat to share, please make copies and bring those with.

Per Diem
For those who refer to them, the per diem rates for New Orleans are $15 for breakfast, $16 for lunch, and $28 for dinner.
