About the Meeting

The IRP/IFTA Managers' and Law Enforcement Workshop provides an in-depth exploration of issues impacting IRP, IFTA, law enforcement, and the motor carrier industry in general. Attendees include both jurisdiction and industry representatives from the US and Canada.

Reasons to Attend

By attending this year’s workshop, you will be able to:

  • Participate in demonstrations of technology currently used by law enforcement, including a density meter, HAENNI portable scales, and how to obtain a diesel sample.
  • Learn how emerging technologies may impact the IRP, IFTA and law enforcement communities.
  • Gain some tips to improve customer service at your office.
  • Use the data available to jurisdiction users of the IFTA Clearinghouse.
  • Learn how to handle virtual offices and the requirements of an established place of business.
  • Ensure your organization is ready for the implementation of the IRP and IFTA electronic credential ballots.
  • Learn about the new IFTA compliance review process and IRP peer review top findings.
  • Ensure that your jurisdiction is maintaining quality control, even through transitions to online services. Performing quality control is a recurring suggestion in recent findings from the IRP Peer Review Committee.
  • Gain different perspectives on what has been learned during the first year of the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate.
  • Acquire tips on managing a database modernization or transitioning to online services.
  • Network with representatives from US and Canadian jurisdictions, as well as industry stakeholders.

Newcomers can attend optional 101s on law enforcement, IFTA, and IRP. Other topics include the ballot process and current ballots, electronic credentials, generations in the workplace, and IFTA and IRP enforcement.
