Information Technology and Data Services Committee

The Information Technology and Data Services Committee (formerly known as the Clearinghouse Committee) was created by the Board of Directors as a result of changing IRP, Inc. processes and systems and the desire to improve IRP data and the methods of collecting, reporting and disseminating the data to the IRP community. The main focus of the committee will be the IRP Clearinghouse and IRP website technology and data.

You can contact any member of the Information Technology and Data Services Committee if you have comments or questions about technology and data procedures.

Purpose and Authority

The Information Technology and Data Services Committee has the responsibility and authority to:

  1. Provide policy recommendations and propose amendments on IRP information technology and data services issues related to the IRP Clearinghouse, website and other internal systems used to administer the International Registration Plan. The committee in its duties may need to study other related Motor Carrier Data systems and programs operated by external entities (ex. CVISN, IFTA Clearinghouse, UCR), for the purpose of providing comprehensive committee services to the IRP community.
  2. Work with IRP committees and members to collect, analyze, prioritize and recommend enhancements to the IRP clearinghouse and IRP website.

Volunteers Needed for Clearinghouse Best Practices Project

Volunteers are needed for a project led by the IT and Data Services Committee. The committee is working on a best practices guide for use of IRP registration and related financial data in the IRP Clearinghouse tool. Two groups will be formed of jurisdiction personnel – one administrative, the other audit - to explore the different data needs of each group and determine the best way to access and use the data and reports from the Clearinghouse tool. The committee would like to have at least four volunteers for each group who will provide input and develop the best practices. The individual groups will meet twice monthly, for one hour each, for six to eight months. If you want to learn more about using the Clearinghouse data while serving on this team, please contact Robin Murphy for more details.

Enhancement Recommendations

Jurisdictions may submit enhancement recommendations to the committee using the Information Technology and Data Services Enhancement Request.
